Appearance

★ [ Description ]:
Deceptively glittery and silver-coated, Mag at first glance is an ordinary pale gray cat with green eyes. However, the more you look, the more hidden traits you find lying just beyond his shiny surface. Slanted eyes and a lazy yet somewhat suggestive smile hints at a coy and secretive nature, and the darker silver stripes that melt along the end of Mag's frame only accent the droopy syrupy viscosity that is his overall personality. In fact, many aspects of Mag are quite droopy; with his long fur, droopy eyes, and his large slightly-droopy ears, it seems as though the tom is always prepared to fall onto his side and laze about. Like his oriental heritage, the apprentice has dark gray points that contrast against the dove gray of his base coat that is broken only by white tips and a white underbelly. His ears and nose are a bright red, contrasting against his ashen-gray monochromatic theme.

Personal

Abandoned to prosper by chance alone, from birth Mag seemed to never forget his shady beginnings. Clever and quick-witted for his age, the apprentice was able to quickly grasp the concept of the circumstances of his adoption. Though fond of both of his guardians, Mag seems to be very aloof and passive, showing little concern for others' feelings. He's very unattached to his siblings and doesn't seem to show nary a hair of loyalty, frequently making them the butt of his jokes for his own amusement. This disloyalty and dispassionate attitude extends to most cats he meets, and though the tom is very sociable and enjoys meeting new cats, its rare that he will grow very fond or attached to them. Mag is also very lazy, preferring to lay around and snooze his days away while he still can. Games and stories are perhaps the only way to pique his interest in activities, though the games Mag prefers can be pretty...distasteful at times, to say the least. Despite his grim and rather dark personality, Mag tries his best to impress Sullivan and behave, for the most part.

“Haven't your parents taught you about sharing? You don't want to be a big butt, right?”

Though his cleverness only extends to what is age appropriate, Mag is very perceptive and listens intently how what the more thoughtful cats in his life speak and reason. His favorite cat to imitate is Cenek, the epitome of a Cool Dude in Mag's eyes. One of Mag's favorite ways to trick cats in Shadow Tribe is to use Cenek's status as Silver to his advantage, sending out fake threats just to try and get his way. Beyond deception, Mag puts a lot of thought into his actions and therefore has creative ideas for the small, apprentice-sized problems that come his way.

“Ehh...It's fine. I don't really care.”

Disinterested and disloyal to a fault, Mag finds himself very aloof about most cats and objects in his life. Though too young to really grasp the concept of 'every man for himself,' Mag certainly lives by it, only making an effort to do things that benefits him and him only. The only exception to this is Cenek and Sullivan-- he cares very deeply for both of the old toms, secretly slipping them the best bugs he kills and the nicest gems he's able to nab from the collectors of Shadow Tribe.

Though he seems very lazy and manipulative, Mag is actually a pretty sociable cat! He likes to entertain a crowd and meet new types of cats in hopes of meeting someone interesting. Talking to others gives something for him to do and new stories for Mag to listen to, so he is definitely willing to sift through a bunch of boring babies to find a good time. As bored-seeming and dispassionate as the White Earth seems, he has very practiced mannerisms and he likes to show them off in order to show off.

“So what? It's dead, isn't it? It doesn't have feeeeeeelingsssss.”

The dark and cold cave is full of all sorts of creepy secrets, and one of Mag's favorite hobbies is to discover every single one of them. When the lazy apprentice isn't sleeping, teasing his siblings, or pestering his guardians for cool stories, Mag is exploring the tunnels of Shadow Tribe to sneak around in the darkness looking for cool things to pick at. Unfortunately, one of his favorite things to pick at happens to be dead things, be it prey or bugs or even plants. Mag things the process is fascinating, and he likes to try and figure out what makes things tick. His favorite stories are ones with lots of blood and fighting and death, though conversely Mag finds the idea of killing something himself rather distasteful.

“It's cool. I don't really care.”

Mag is lax to a fault, and very little outside forces can affect his mood. Every day is a good day if you just don't care enough. Though his least favorite thing is to be bossed around and being forced to be productive, Mag doesn't particularly mind and the tom has a tendency to accept what each day brings him regardless of the positive or negative outcome. He's just very even-tempered in general, and there's very little that bothers the shady cat.

Beyond regular apprentice duties, Mag isn't a very proactive child. He very rarely runs around or expends more energy than absolutely necessary, and very often the White Earth prefers to laze around and relax all day. It's very difficult to persuade Mag to do more than roll over if he really doesn't want to, and the only way to really seal the deal is to bait him with one of his selective interests. One could argue, however, that this was his plan all along...?

By a stroke of luck, the abandoned litter of Artei and Donner were discovered by the head mineral collector of Shadow Tribe. Out of the four rag-tag kittens rescued by the benevolent tom, Mag happened to be the laziest and the weirdest.
